SmartFin is a free project to help every Canadian understand their money: how pay, credit, taxes and savings actually work, explained in plain language.
What we do
Most of us were never taught how money works in Canada. We write short, plain-language guides and build free tools that do the math for you. We start with the moments that matter most: a first paycheque, a first credit card, a first tax return and your first savings accounts.
The paycheque calculator shows where your pay goes. The card finder ranks cards by what they’d actually pay you back. The checklist puts the important steps in order, and the guides explain the rest.
What we believe
- Show the math. Every result comes with a line-by-line breakdown so you can check it.
- Your numbers are yours. Calculators run in your browser. We don’t store what you type in.
- Rankings aren’t for sale. Some links may earn us a commission, but that never changes the order. Read how we rank cards.
Who’s behind it
SmartFin is built and run by Ezag Digital Solutions, a small Canadian studio. We’re not a bank, a financial advisor or a credit bureau. Everything here is general information, not personal financial advice.
